Left out and burnt out
You try and try and try to make things the way you want them but in the end it's never what you thought it would be. I once said "don't have expectations of people because you will always be let down". And I 100 percent stand behind that statement. You build relationships with coworkers, school mates and random people you encounter only to hold them to a standard they could never live up to. You might go out of your way for someone to do something nice or show you care and in the back of your mind you will say " They would do the same for me". Well god damn it, prove it. Step up do something because when push comes to shove life is short and if you don't make the best of every second then your one person with one oar in a row boat, you will go in circles until the rain comes and washes you away. Thank god for my wife, I know i always have someone to row me ashore.

Music
This is the purest form of fun you can have! A 21st century 1 man band! You gotta love electronics. This is a few tracks of guitar looped on a boss dd6 and playing live drums over it. If anyone has this pedal and has not messed with the loop function please do it is amazing!!!

Living in the shadows of a guitars and vocals!
I have been doing quite a bit of playing over the last few months. For thosw of you who don't know this and for that matter who are reading this, Im a musician! I love all things musical i play like 7 instruments the main three being drums guitar and bass in that order. But in my extensive journey down this musical road I have had the pleasure of playing with some really great people. Some of which have being inspiring, educational, and truly a pleasure to play with. But.... and when i say but its a very big but, There have been some of which i would love to forget. I could take this opportunity to trash the hell out of all the lame singers or lead happy guitar players I have worked with but that would be to easy. Entering a new stage in my life i have tried to reflect on the bad and pull something positive out of it. This is what I have come up with, all those incredibly crap filled note junkies have in common is playing for the wrong reasons. Weather they thrive on the attention or think they are goods gift to the instrument they all use music for themselves to stroke their egos! Music is a form of expression and communication and if what you choose to communicate is " Look at me and how good I am " Then join a modeling agency, do cocaine and have your life broadcasted on The E channel because true lovers of music don't give a damn about your ego. If you think this is just some rant heres a test. Find your favorite song, I don't care who it's by our how long ago you heard it. In that song I am going to bet there is no 10 min guitar solo or a singer talking about how big their house is or how many "Bitches they got!". Odds are its a simple song with some great story being told that connects you to a good time in your life. Because thats what music is a channel to a memory or a feeling inside. When people start figuring that out we will have a bunch of great records and i will turn they radio on again. But until then Its me and my ipod friends forever.

I want this dog

You ever go to someone's house a friend or relative maybe who has a pet? You ever fall in with that pet and want to steal it? Has that pet ever been your mother-in-laws? Well thats the pickle I got myself into. Her name is molly and man is she a chilled out dog. She is in love with my fiance jennie and I and i would love nothing more then to take her to my new home in a few months, but I think that is an impossibility. You see the dog also belongs to jennies younger sister casey who is 10 and happens to be quite the lovely little girl herself. So i truly believe that i have no choice but to say goodbye to my good friend in a few months and just hope and pray that we get a pup who is half as amazing as my girl molly!

Jumpin swingin rockin rollin
You ever try something you have always wanted to do before and wind up loving it. Me and jennie took our first dance class in preparations for the wedding this past week and wow it was awesome. Its so cool to learn about music in a different way after studying it for 8 years on the performance side. I can't wait to be confident in my dancing so jennie and I can really tear it up. It has really been a lot of fun. This past week has also been the introduction to spring, and the fresh air feels amazing! My students however are enjoying it so much they feel its not important to come to lessons! So that has been a downfall but all in all a nice change.

52, warm, and funny!
Wonderful day, weather was just fine. We have had a boat load of snow here in new york so 52 and clear skies was a pleasant change of pace. Wedding plans was the name of the game today, but the end result was connection. It was so wonderful to spend the day with my future wife just talking and planning for our big day. We travel from one side of long island to the other. Stopping at our vineyard our florist a bakery and tea house and yes Bed Bath and Beyond as well (we did have enough time). Came home to a house full of family members and pizza! Im going to bed smiling and it has been the first time in a long while. It feels right, I am starting to feel like myself again. There is something to be said about how the country air and good conversation can clean your soul. I feel clean and can't wait to see what tomorrow brings. The forecast says another beautiful day fingers crossed.

WET DAY NO WAY!
Lazy day here but a very eventful lesson! Today at 345 i taught a drum student i have had for 4 years now. When he first should up it was difficult to get this boy to talk let alone play. Now he can improvise so confidently it would seem as if we were playing a song but we a really making it up on the spot! He listens when he plays and makes music not noise. I play bass during the lesson when we work on improvisation, the jams we get into are pretty intense. It is so rewarding to be around a person you have positively influenced. You made an impact on a person future, it makes all the work worth it. I am looking forward to a lifetime of lessons, questions and answers.

February 27th
Well another day like yesterday, tired, restless and foggy. I hope to move forward from what has ultimately brought her, me and us down. But you never know. This week has taught me to be more aware of my actions. It brought me to reflect on a conversation with my father as a child. We were discussing the game of pool and my father told me that great pool players shoot three moves ahead every shot. It doesn't matter if one ball goes in because you could end up in a stand still having no other shots. Or you could make it easier for your opponent to win. This strategy seems to be the same in life. If you make your moves in life with out planning on what will happen next you could very well better your situation in the moment. But to truly make out ok you need to plan for the future. I have come a long way in 4 years but i still have a lot to learn. I am praying everyday that i get the chance to be good husband and an equal partner. I also hope that this blog provides an outlet for me to express some of these feelings in a positive way even if no one reads it. Until next time, Don't scratch on the break you might find yourself having no other moves left.
